WiFi QR code
How it works
The code stores your network name, password and security type in the standard WIFI: format. iPhone (iOS 11+) and Android cameras recognise it and show “Join network”.
Tips
Pick the right security type (most routers use WPA2/WPA3). If your network is hidden, tick “Hidden network”. Print it at least 3 cm wide and put a “Scan for WiFi” frame on it. If you change your password, make a new code.
Is it safe?
Anyone who can scan the code gets the password, just like reading it on a card — so put it where only guests see it. For cafés and Airbnbs, a separate guest network is best.
Frequently asked questions
Does it work on iPhone?
Yes, with the regular Camera app on iOS 11 or later.
Is my password sent anywhere?
No. The code is made in your browser; your password never leaves your device.
Does it work with a hidden network?
Yes, tick “Hidden network” so phones look for it.
