Free QR generators that don’t expire
The key: static or dynamic
A static QR code carries your link inside the pattern itself, so it works forever: no generator can switch it off. A dynamic code carries the service’s short link (qrco.de, q-r.to…), which redirects to your site. That is what lets you edit it and count scans — but if the company switches it off, every printed copy stops working.
Where the catch is
qr-code-generator.com gives a 14-day trial, after which “the codes deactivate automatically”. QRFY gives 7 days, then codes lead to a QRFY service page. QR TIGER keeps 3 dynamic codes with 500 scans each and shows its ads when people scan. The QR Code Generator keeps 2 with ads, and free downloads carry a watermark. ME-QR shows an ad before your content after the first 10 scans.
Which one to pick
If you just need a code that always works, any static code will do — QRCode Monkey and goQR.me are solid picks for that. If you want to change the destination later or see scan statistics without paying or showing ads, infiniqr gives you editable codes with no scan limit, no account and no ads. And if one of your codes already stopped working, you can rescue it here.

Frequently asked questions
Do QR codes expire?
Static ones don’t: the link is inside the code. Dynamic ones can stop working when the trial ends or you stop paying, because they depend on the company’s server.
What is the best free QR code generator that doesn’t expire?
For a code you never need to change, any generator that makes static codes. If you want to edit it or see statistics for free, infiniqr does it with no account, no ads and no scan limit.
How do I know if my QR code is dynamic?
Scan it: if it first opens another company’s domain (qrco.de, q-r.to, me-qr.com…) before your site, it is dynamic. Our Scan tab tells you which service it is and turns it into a static code.
